Domains.ini File |
|
Default domain settings and domain specific settings are stored in domains.ini. User default settings and user override settings are also stored there. It is located in WorldClient Pro's base directory, and can be manually edited with any text editor, or by using the Remote Administration interface
There are six section categories in domains.ini:
Default:Settings - The keys in this section govern various domain and host related settings. There are also a several other keys that control certain account related functions that you may wish to configure on a per domain basis rather than globally.
Domain:Settings - This optional section is only needed when you are hosting multiple domains. There can be any number of [Domain:Settings] sections contained in domains.ini. Simply replace "Domain" with the name of the domain to which the section will apply (e.g. [altn.com:Settings]). This section can contain any keys used in the [Default:Settings] section, and the [Domain:Settings] keys will always take precedence when a user is connected to that domain. Whenever a key is not found in the [Domain:Settings] section, the value of the key in [Default:Settings] will be used instead.
Default:UserDefaults - Contains the default settings for WorldClient users. When a new account is created these settings govern the limitations and configuration of the new user's account. User specific settings and those setting which user's may edit are contained on each user's user.ini file located in their personal folder in the \users\ directory.
Domain:UserDefaults - This optional section is only needed when you are hosting multiple domains. There can be any number of [Domain:UserDefaults] sections contained in domains.ini. Simply replace "Domain" with the name of the domain to which the section will apply (e.g. [altn.com:UserDefaults]). This section can contain any keys used in the [Default:UserDefaults] section, and the [Domain:UserDefaults] keys will always take precedence when a user is connected to that domain. Whenever a key is not found in the [Domain:UserDefaults] section, the value of the key in [Default:UserDefaults] will be used instead.
Default:UserOverrides - This optional section is used for specifying any alternate settings that you want to use to override those found in [Default:UserDefaults], [Domain:UserDefaults], and the User.ini files. It can contain any keys found in [Default:UserDefaults] and will always take precedence over those other sections and files. Whenever any particular key isn't found in this section, WorldClient will first check [Domain:UserDefaults] for the key (if the user is connected to a domain for which one of those sections has been created). If none is found there then it will use the setting in [Default:UserDefaults]. This makes it possible to include in this section only those specific keys that you wish to override.
Domain:UserOverrides - Like [Default:UserOverrides] this section is optional and is used to override settings found in [Default:UserDefaults], [Domain:UserDefaults], and the User.ini files. However, this section will also override the [Default:UserOverrides] section when a user is connected to its corresponding Domain. In every other respect this section is identical to [Default:UserOverrides].
Default:Settings
The keys in this
section govern various domain and host related settings. There are
also a several other keys that control certain account related
functions that you may wish to configure on a per domain basis rather
than globally.
[Default:Settings] contains the following keys:
DefaultDomain - The default domain name to be used with accounts that you have auto-created using one of WorldClient Pro's mail server Add User utilities. When using WorldClient/MDaemon Integration, the DefaultDomain will be the same as MDaemon's Primary Domain setting. For more information, see: WorldClient/MDaemon Integration and Auto-creating Mail Server Accounts. The default setting is determined by the value that you specified during installation.
Port - Port to listen on for WorldClient Pro HTTP requests. Default is 2000.
IP - This key is only needed if you are hosting multiple domains or wish to bind WorldClient to a specific IP address. If either applies then type WorldClient's default IP address.
Bind - To bind to a specific IP address, set this key to Yes and enter the IP address in the IP key above. By default, the WorldClient server will bind to all local interfaces. You will have to stop and restart the WorldClient service in order for any changes to take effect. Default is No.
SmtpHost - The hostname or IP address of the SMTP server that will be used for outgoing mail.
SmtpPort - This is the TCP/IP port that WorldClient Pro uses for SMTP connections to and from the default domain.
AutoAccountCreation - When a user who doesn't have a WorldClient account tries to sign in, WorldClient will check to see if they have an account on the default POP server. If they do, a WorldClient account will be created for them as well.
NewAccountCreation - Set this key to No if you wish to disable the ability to create accounts from WorldClient Pro's login page. With this feature disabled, users will not be able to create new WorldClient Pro accounts. No = Off/Disabled, Yes = On/Enabled.
NewAccountPassword - If you want new account creation to be password protected then type the desired password here. When a user attempts to create an account, they will be asked to enter this password in order to do so. Leave this control blank if you do not want to limit account creation to those who know the password. Text = New Acct Pass, Blank = No Pass Required. See Passwords.
NewAccountExecutable - If you wish to use an Add User utility to create mail server accounts for your WorldClient Pro users, type the path to the utility here. For more information regarding automatically creating mail server accounts, see: Auto-creating Mail Server Accounts.
NewAccountReturnValue - This is the return value of the NewAccountExecutable that will indicate success. Default is 0.
PopHost - The host name of the default POP server. When synchronization is on, this is the POP server to which WorldClient will connect to authenticate users attempting to sign in. This is also the default setting displayed in the "POP Server" field when a user creates a new Mailbox.
PopPort - This is the TCP/IP port that will be used for connecting to the default POP host. Default is 110.
PopDelete - This determines when each user's mail should be deleted from the default POP Server. The setting will be "Read only" in the user's system mailbox. If you want to give your users permission to change this setting then leave the value of this key blank. 0 = Never Delete (leave on server), 1 = Delete when emptying Trash folder, 2 = Delete when retrieved from the server. Blank=User can choose setting.
SyncSystemMailbox - Used for synchronizing each user's system mailbox with the Default POP server. When a user signs in to WorldClient, their sign in and password values will be passed to the server for authentication. Therefore, their POP sign-in credentials will also be used as their WorldClient sign-in. If your POP server is MDaemon 3.0 or later then changes to the user's settings will be mirrored in MDaemon and vice versa (e.g. if a user changes their password in WorldClient then the password will be changed in MDaemon as well).
UseEmailForPopUser - Set this key to Yes, if you want the POP user name to be the full email address (e.g. POP user: mike@altn.com), otherwise set it to No. Default is No.
EnforceQuotas - Set this key to Yes and WorldClient Pro will display a warning message to users when either the MessageCountQuota or DiskSpaceQuota limit is reached. Furthermore, no more messages will be downloaded for the user's account until they have gone below their limits. These limits are located in the [Default:UserDefaults]section.
Default:UserDefaults
Contains the
default settings for WorldClient users. When a new account is created
these settings govern the limitations and configuration of the new
user's account. User specific settings and those setting which user's
may edit are contained on each user's user.ini file located in their
personal folder in the \users\ directory.
[Default:UserDefaults] contains the following keys:
